As the latest measure by the government to stem the spread of the Ebola Virus in schools, the Ministry of Education and Sports has directed all pre-primary, primary and Secondary schools accross the nation to conclude term 3 of the academic year on the 25th November 2022.
This development will see schools close, two weeks short of the planned 14 week school term slated to close on 9th of December.
Speaking at the Media centre earlier on Tuesday morning, Hon. Joyce Moriku Kahuku, the state Minister for Primary Education, directed the headteachers, district & municipality education officers should take note of this development.
"The schools are required to conduct Final and progressive promotional exams abit earlier from next week" she said.
She added that schools should aswell communicate and prepare students both physically and mentally to adjust to these changes in the National school calender.
Upon completion of the school term, students must return home in a staggering manner to avoid congestion and congregating.
It should be noted that atleast 8 school going children have succumbed to the pandemic with a further 23 cases reported in 5 schools in Kampala, Wakiso and Mubende districts.
