On Wednesday, March 27th, Ugandan star singer Eddy Kenzo attended the swearing in ceremony of Hon Phiona Nyamutoro, the newly appointed Minister of State for Energy and Mineral Development in charge of minerals.
Hon. Phionah Nyamutoro, who also represents the National Female Youth Member of Parliament on the NRM card, was named as State Minister for Minerals by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on March 22nd, 2024.
The youthful minister was sworn in on Wednesday evening along with the other new cabinet ministers such as Balaam Barugahara to mention but a few.
The memorable and auspicious occasion was presided over by Chief Justice Alphonse Owiny-Dollo and witnessed by President Yoweri Museveni at State House Entebbe.
A few minutes after the ceremony (swearing in), Hon Phiona had a great moment with president Museveni and Eddy Kenzo and even took some pictures.
Filled with excitement, EddyKenzo was once again quick to take to his social media handle to congratulate his supposed “close friend” Nyamutoro on the new milestone.
The president of Uganda National Musician Federation went to ask God to provide Hon Phiona with a lot of protection and guidance as she takes on her new role.

Her appointment stirred curiosity, especially within the entertainment realm, due to speculations surrounding her relationship with Eddy Kenzo, also known as Edirisa Musuuza.
Although rumors have making rounds on various kampala streets pointing at a possible romantic connection between the two, Kenzo, real name Edirisa Musuza clarified during an interview with Sanyuka TV on Tuesday that they are just friends and nothing else is happening.
Phiona and I are simply very good friends and there is nothing big about it. People should just know that we are right buddies and nothing more. I’m just happy for her in her new ministerial job and wish her all the best in serving her country."
