    Lydia Jazmine whose real name is Lydia Nabawanuka is a Ugandan singer, songwriter and performer. She was born on 27th April 1991 in Mukono to father Kasugi William and mother Nakanwagi Scolastica.

    Her early child hood wasn’t easy because her parents separated and in 1995, she relocated to Kyebando a suburb in Kampala to live with her grandmother.

          Jazmine started her education at Victoria Nile School where she studied her elementary. Later she transferred to Saint Mary's School Namaliga, in Kimenyedde sub-county, Mukono District. She completed high school at Cityland College Matugga and in 2016 afterjoining Multitech Business School Kampala, she graduated with aBachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management.

    During her time in high school she discovered that she had a talent in music and therefore joined the school choir and started singing not later she also joined the church choir at the Passover Harvest Centre and at Watoto Church. After her high school, she joined a band called Gertnum, where she sang as a back-up vocalist.

    While at campus she teamed up guitarist Harry Lwanga and formed an acoustic group of two people doing acoustic covers in bars as a way to raise her university tuition.

    In 2013 while at one of her acoustic gigs, she met Bushingtone who was the producer and manager of Radio and Weasel. He acknowledged her talent and later, she was offered a contract as a back-up singer by Radio and Weasel. She would later appear as their back-up vocalist on the songs "Ntunga" and "Breath Away". She also backed-up artists like  Bebe Cool and Sheebah Karungi. She also did numerous gigs and toured with artists like Coco Finger and Fidempa from Kenya.

    In 2014, she signed to Necta Music under the manager Bushingtone and released her first single “you know” featuring dancehall superstar Rabadaba. This went on to be her first breakthrough hit into the Ugandan music industry and got her nominated for Best RnB song in the Galaxy FM Zina music Awards. since then she has released several other popular songs including "Same Way", "Nkwateko", "Cherie", "Omalawo" and "Bintu" and many others

    In May 2016, she remixed hot single Cherie with Nigerian superstar Kiss Daniel and Bahati from Kenya on coke studio Africa and in 2017 was selected for the second time to participate in Coke Studio Africa 2017.

    Lydia jazmine has released avariety songs and these include: You Know, Nkubanja ,Cherie, Tukumbe, Guno Omukwano, Meu Marido, Same Way ft Geosteady Omuntu ft Sheebah Karungi, Control ft Spilla, Silent Night ft Kiss Daniel, Ndaga, Mwagala Biriyo ,Waiting for Your Love ft Liloca at Coke Studio Africa 2017, Drum, You and Me, Mega, This must be love, Kampala kyekyo, Sing for me, Binji binji, Oja kunzite, Tonkozesa, Ebintu byange, Wankolera, Nkubanja, Masuka, Kapeesa ,I love you bae ,Olindaki, Omalawo and this has allowed her to earn a top shot in the Ugandan music industry.
