A Pass spills tea: Bebe Cool was the first to spot his talent, even asked for songwriting help. No beef here, just pure mutual respect and early mentorship!

During a recent appearance on Talkshow 256, rising Ugandan artist A Pass unveiled the untold story of his early connection with Bebe Cool, one of Uganda’s music legends. Contrary to rumors of rivalry or animosity, A Pass spoke fondly of Bebe Cool, highlighting the pivotal role the Gagamel Crew boss played in his budding career.

In the interview, A Pass reminisced about the early days of his career, a time when recognition from established artists was crucial for young musicians trying to break into the competitive Ugandan music scene. He revealed that Bebe Cool was the first major artist to see his potential and express genuine appreciation for his musical talents. This early endorsement was a significant confidence boost for the then-aspiring artist.

"Bebe Cool was the first artist who really saw something in me," A Pass shared.

"He appreciated my songwriting skills and my lyrical flow at a time when I was just starting out. It meant a lot coming from someone of his stature."

The admiration wasn’t one-sided. Bebe Cool was so impressed with A Pass’s talents that he sought his assistance in writing some of his own music back in 2014. This collaboration was a testament to A Pass’s exceptional songwriting ability, even as a young artist. For A Pass, working with Bebe Cool was a dream come true and a significant learning experience that helped shape his own music career.

"He even asked me to help write some of his songs. It was incredible to work alongside someone I had looked up to," A Pass recalled. "He wanted to sign me under Gagamel the moment he heard my music."

The mutual respect and support between the two artists debunk the persistent rumors of any beef or hatred. A Pass was quick to clarify that there has never been any bad blood between him and Bebe Cool. Instead, their relationship has always been built on respect and admiration for each other's craft.

"There’s no beef between us, never has been. Bebe Cool has always been supportive, and I respect him a lot," A Pass stated.

"He recognized my potential and gave me opportunities that helped me grow as an artist."

The revelation sheds light on the often-overlooked positive relationships within the music industry, where mentorship and collaboration can play crucial roles in an artist's development. A Pass’s story is a reminder that behind the scenes, many successful artists have benefited from the guidance and support of their predecessors.
