Uganda police spokesperson Fred Enanga has come out to warn Local Council 1 chairpersons over issuing travel documents to non essential workers. In his words, Enanga confirmed that a number automotive owners have been impounded but found with fake documents.
"It has come to our notice that LC1 chairpersons are giving out travel documents to non essential workers who own cars and motorcycles. This is totally wrong, because it is against the directives of the president." Said Enanga.
He also said that over 1445 drivers were arrested last week for breaking curfews rules. 766 out of the lot were warned, 490 were released on bond.
This explains the crazy jam along different routes, irrespective of the suspension of both public and private transport as a way of curbing the spread of covid-19.
