Having narrowly survived assassination yesterday morning in Kisasi suburbs, former transport minister General Katumba Wamala has sent regards to the public a day after the incident.
The message was posted on his Twitter handle. "Yesterday while driving to my mother-in-law's vigil, we got attacked by armed men who shot at our car. My daughter Brenda Nantongo and driver Haruna Kayondo died." Said the general.
He went on to thank the boda boda rider and hospital where he got his first aid from. "I thank the boda boda man who offered to take me for medication amidst the scuffle and also thank Malcom Healthcare Kisasi where i got my first aid."
In his tweet, general Katumba urged Ugandans to continue observing SOPs amidst the increased covid-19 cases and also thanked the president of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
"I thank the commander in chief for the care he has shown me. His phone calls are some of the reasons I am still fighting."
