After a full house on Saturday night, Gravity Omutujju one of Uganda's leading artistes has the right to raise his head high.
At first when he talked about this concert about three months ago, everyone thought it was good joke and others like musician Eddy Kenzo confessed that he cannot (at the moment) manage to organize a concert at the highly feared cricket Oval despite his popularity. Concerts at that venue especially one man shows are organized by only big characters in the music industry like Jose Chameleone.
As we entered July, posters of Gravity's concert started to show up on TVs and other forms of media which made us finally believe that the event was actually there. One that doesn't know how loved Gravity is could easily anticipate a flopped show for our lugaflow rapper but however even the sponsor its self "MTN" could show how much potential the artiste has.
On the evening of 30th September, most spectators and stingy media houses were shocked to see how big the crowds were for Gravity's concert. According to a viba source, at least 3 quarters of the arena were filled and the audience was entertained by other curtain raiser artistes such as Fik Fameica, Eddy Kenzo. Thereafter the main man of the concert came onto stage dressed in a black outfit that bares wrestling like belts on it.
Omutujju performed songs such as Money, Nfanana Zuena, Olimba, Vimba, Netya, Ekyebeeyi for about two hours. Towards the end of the show, he received around UGX.6million in tips and CD sales from the VIP fans who included his family members. He later knelt down on stage thanking his fans for the big turn up and promised to take many photos with them to irritate his haters.
