In just a few years of its domination Uganda, video sharing platform Tik Tok has managed to breed a new set of celebrities. Among the many that TikTok has brought is Sammie Manini, real names Abaho Samuel.
Sammie who is a professional tour guide narrated his story of how the famous viral “Rions” video came about while appearing on NBS TV’s After 5 show. In his own words, he says that given the nature of his job as a tour guide, he travels a lot to various tourism destinations and one time, he traveled together with his friends to Lake Mburo National park. While there, they decided to move to Queen Elizabeth National Park with the aim of seeing lions.
Before they could kickstart their journey, their driver insisted that they should stay at Lake Mburo because it also housed lions. Sammie with his experience and knowledge around these destinations, he very well knew that lions never lived at Lake Mburo but decided to make fun out of the whole scenario. He jokingly recorded a video of himself referring to Zebra’s in his background as lions.
Upon being uploaded, the video went very viral and got shared by many global celebrities among them being American singer Doja Cat. The video surpassed over 2M views, 90K likes, 20K comments and 20K shares on the TikTok platform with several other social media platforms. Today, he is one of the biggest brand and social media influencers in the land.
