Yesterday evening the Uganda U20 football team, the Hippos made history in the AFCONU20 final. The boys, despite their 2:0 loss to Ghana's black satellites, the Hippos won everyone's heart as this was their debut championship.
Goals from Daniel Afriyie saw the Ghana team win their forth competition, as they won the one in 1993, 1999, 2009 and now this one. Uganda's striker Derrick Kakooza won top scorer of the tournament with 5 goals and was part of the team of the tournament alongside fellow countryman Aziz Kayondo.
Hippos' head coach Morley Byekwaso was as well voted coach of the tournament and the Fair play award went to team Uganda too. Congratulations to the boys, thank you for making us proud. Until next time.
