I can never be bought by money - Mao assures DP delegates
    • March 6, 2022 • 3 years ago

Democratic Party president Norbert Mao has for the past 7 days been trending in the newspapers and social media for both good and reasons. The former presidential candidate started off by calling National Unity Platform (NUP) a group of hooligans whose only expertise is abusing whoever disagrees with the party's motives.

Mao went ahead to call for the scrapping off of the party from the national political partys records. This was the spark of a day in-day out verbal exchange from the red camp (NUP) and the Green Camp (DP), where Mao was accused of having 'eaten', that's why he was throwing tauntrums everywhere.

Among the many verbal exchanges, Mao was accused of having been given 'transport money'  of 5million to meet the president, H.E Yoweri K Museveni but never turned up. In a Twitter space, Mao was quoted saying former presidential candidate and FDC party member Dr. Kiiza Besigye had been secretly visiting State House for reasons not yet known.

What however fueled the battle the more was atweet from the first son, Maj. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, where he praised Mao of being a very intelligent man and the only opposition leader who has qualities of being a president of Uganda. This not only caused unrest in other oppisition camps but also within Mao's DP party, and this forced Mao to assure the party delegates of how he can never be bought by money.

"The president's son General Muhoozi praised Norbert Mao, did he say anything wrong? I'm I not inteligent? Don't I have presidential abilities? I want to assure you that I know what I'm doing and I'll never be bought by money. I can never be bought by money and leave my party alone" said Nobert Mao during a DP delegates meeting in Mbale.
