After 23 years of being the sole news anchor of Voice of Africa (VOA), Shaka Ssali has decided to retire
The emotional retirement was watched by thousands as Shaka did his last show yesterday.
During the show, he thanked his fans who have watched him over the years.
He also thanked the production team for tirelessly working with him to deliver the best news concerning the motherland Africa.
Shaka is a Ugandan born in New York in the United States of America.
He started working on voice of Africa in 1999.
"We started this show to make sure Africa as a continent is seen and heard by the rest of the world. Not just the bad and ugly, but also the good it has." He mentioned.
Other journalists such as Seanice Kacungira have sent their appreciation to him through social media.
"This man was a big inspiration and role model to me and I just want to say thank you for the job well done." The former Capital FM radioy host mentioned on her Instagram post.
Shaka has been replaced by a lady Haydè Adams who will start to work.
To Shaka, we say thank you for making Uganda proud and raising that flag high.
