Inspector General of Government Betty Olive Namisango Kamya has hinted on the new ammendment that she's confident will curb the ever growing corruption among government offices cross the country.
"We want tocinclude a section of Life Style Audit in the menu. We shall continue to prosecute, woth confiscation of property but we want to also add in the Lifestyle Audit. The current law requires you only to declare your wealth to the IGG every after two years, the IGG verifies but after that, it is weak." said the IGG
IGG Kamya went on to add that the government has to make the law stronger so that people are required to explain their lifestyles that are not in line with their known sources of income. "And we are going to go even further to strengthen the law by requiring them to reveal information about their spouses and children" the IGG added.
The IGG a few months back after her vetting propmised the nation that in a period of six months, corruption would be a myth in the pearl of Africa. HAs she been successful? Has she failed and notlived up to her words? In any case, can corruption in this land ever be fought? Let us know.
