    * Hamas reportedly fired a rocket propelled grenade to lsrael military tanks claiming the lives of 24 soldiers.

    * Thousands attend the funeral held for the slain soldiers in the country's capital Tel Aviv.

    * Netanyahu's popularity continues to diminish due to the death or soldiers in a country where military service to the state is compulsory.

Israel lost another 24 soldiers in combat with HAMAS a figure so big ever since the war broke out in the battled Gaza enclave.  The media reported that twenty-one soldiers were killed at ago when a rocket  propelled grenade was fired at a tank that  was guarding an lsraeli military unit claiming two soldiers who were in the tank. This also caused explosions around the buildings where the army was stationed due to explosion of the explosives that had been stationed to counter a HAMAS attack. The IDF Spokesperson Rear ADM Daniel Hagari reported that the one captain and two majors we killed in the attack and the burial proceedings where underway. As the war since October approaches the 17th week, the civilian death toll continues to rise to 25,262 and about 63,000 injuries recorded. The tank attack happens at a point where lsrael is trying to pull out some soldiers out Gaza and considering to use a more less intense and more targeted approach towards the HAMAS.

Benjamin Netanyahu who is battling political pressure due to the attacks on multiple fronts termed the  event as one of the most difficult days which brought the total number of lsraeli soldiers to have been killed since the onset of the war in the embattled enclave to 219. The lsrael large scale bombing of Gaza has been on going since the October 7th attacks where the HAMAS entered into southern lsrael, killed over 1200 and took more 250 people as hostages with 130 still living in captivity dead or alive. The previous deadliest day was 31st October that saw 16 lsraeli troops die and 11th October where 11 troops were also killed in  an armoured personnel carrier indicating a sharp increase in the Jewish state losses. Im the recent weeks, the lsraeli army has concentrated on wiping out the Hamas mainly in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis with the IDF carrying out raids on several refugee camps inorder to dismantle Hamas coordination lines with more 200 people recorded to have been killed in the area.

The international community including the U.S continue to pressure Netanyahu on the military activities inside the Gaza strip and what would be of Gaza should the lsraeli offensive end. The U.S wants Netanyahu to guarnatee the formation of an independent Palestinian state which Netanyahu failed to agree on with President Biden. Domestically, the former is being blamed for failure to ensure the release of the captured hostages and as well being forced to guarnatee the country's security due to the attacks he receives on  many fronts with the Defence minister Yoav Gallant citing 6 war fronts. Israel gone ahead to offer a two week ceasefire for the release of more hostages which they do hope the Hamas will react positively. The lran backed military group has created the biggest tension in the middle east ever since it took power in Gaza in 2007 with the current lsrael offensive claiming over 25,262 people most being women and childen as well as deepening the Humanitarian crisis.
