Deputy Speaker of Parliament of Uganda Rt. Hon Jacob Oulanya has today handed over his office.
He handed over all the items given to him at the beginning of his tenure.
In a message he wrote to the media team, he said he has handed over the office and doesn't not plan to come back.
"I am going home." He stated.
Oulanya has been deputy speaker for the past ten years.
He is now eyeing the seat of speakership against Rebecca Kadaga.
Kadaga had promised Oulanya and other Members of Parliament she would hand over the office to him after ten years.
She has denied that allegation countlessly times and hopes to win again.
NRM hasn't yet chosen which candidate will represent them.
The election will be held on Monday in a secret ballot meeting to chose between Kadaga and Oulanya.
