Talented news anchor Rita Kanya has officially resigned from NTV Uganda, a subsidiary of the Nation Media Group after five years of dedicated service.
On Thursday night, May 23rd, Rita called it a wrap at the Serena based station as she bid a farewell to viewers during her final NTV tonight news bulletin.
She was joined by her colleagues who presented her with a bouquet as a token of appreciation for her contribution to the team during her time at the station.
Ritah also took to her social media walls to let her online fans and followers know about her resignation from NTV Uganda.
In her official statement, she extended her heartfelt gratitude to NTV viewers for the endless love they have shown her for all the time she has been on their screens.
Ritah says that for the five years she has been reporting on communities, she has learnt alot
"Over the last five years, it has been an immense honour starting mornings with you on Morning at NTV, giving you lunch updates of the days' stories and winding down the evening with the news in detail on NTV Tonight.You have given me space to learn, grow and made me part of your home, the waiting area and between your schedules on your phone.I have learned a great deal about the communities we report in and I'm proud to have served to bring their stories to the forefront of national news," part of her statement read.
She further noted that :
"Last night, I anchored my last bulletin with NTV and will now work my last days with the Nation Media Group.I'm proud of what we've achieved together and wish the very best to the hardworking team I leave behind in the
newsroom.I'll start a new career journey in the coming month and I'm very excited for it.
Rita acknowledged the incredible experience she had during her five years at the station and extended her thanks to the Nation Media Group for their unwavering commitment to delivering accurate, bold, and insightful news.
NTV Uganda also took to its handles to appreciate Rita Kanya for the good work and services she has offered to the station over the years.
