It is no doubt that social media has brought about very many positive things but it is also undeniable that it has also caused quite a number of unfortunate happenings. Every thing surely has an advantage as well as a disadvantage!

The Kabaka of Buganda, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi ll  has concluded the year with a touching message as a parent. He has come out and cautioned parents to monitor their children in regards to their access to social media. He then urged parents to monitor their children’s social media accounts carefully.

    Kabaka

The Kabaka mentioned the need for parents to guide their children on the appropriate use of social media to avoid its misuse. He majorly emphasized the growing issue of cyber bullying stating that it is not good for the young generation.

“Parents should monitor what their children are sharing on social media as well as their circle of friends,” he stated.

    Kabaka

Kabaka Mutebi not only gave parents a message but also turned to the youth, urging them to embrace social media in the positive light rather than using it to cause harm to others. He urged the youths  to focus on promoting and protecting their culture, instead of misusing social media.

“And as for the youths, instead of harassing your fellows via social media, try to use it to do good. You should focus on promoting your culture via social media.” He stated.
