Yesterday just after the independence day of Uganda during the morning rush hours , many people were on their way to work as it suddenly started raining.
Children going to school were also caught up in this heavy downpour forcing many to reach school late. There were these two young kids , most probably of lower primary academic level that were stranded under heavy rain and were trying to proceed to their school through the wet environment.
Many cars by passed them as usual in a city like Kampala where everyone goes about their own business. Actually many drivers after seeing such incidents simply comment about them in their cars mostly directing the comments towards reckless parents that don't accompany their kids to school but do not actually offer real help.
Fortunately , there was this woman driving along Kibuli Road where the kids were stranded. She pulled over her brand new Nissan car number UBA 759M and actually got out of the car to give the kids her own umbrella. This was a very kind move which got some of the people that experienced it , emotional.
This was a true act of kindness where she showed goodwill towards the children, but most people in our society tend to take kindness for granted in that many usually help others when they are expecting something in return sort of like a payback and that is what I call forced kindness.
People should just be naturally kind where by they help others expecting absolutely nothing in return because it comes with several advantages such as relieving stress, feeling good about yourself and an act of kindness as most people believe could bounce back to you someday.
