    Arsenal hope to sign Youssouf Fofana from AS Monaco despite competition from other top clubs around Europe. Ibrahima Konate makes statement on PSG transfer rumors.

    Arsenal are among the clubs interested in signing AS Monaco and France midfielder Youssouf Fofana.

    With Mohamed Elneny set to leave the club and Thomas Partey's future uncertain, the Gunners need to strengthen their midfield.

    Arsenal have already been rejected by Martin Zubimendi who is only interested in joining Real Madrid or FC Barcelona if he were to leave Real Sociedad.

    Youssouf Fofana has one year left on his contract and AS Monaco could sell him in the summer when they can still command a transfer fee rather than let him go as a free agent.

    It has been reported that Arsenal have been in contact with the 25 year old's camp. However, Paris Saint Germain, AC Milan and Atletico Madrid have also done the same.

    AS Monaco bought Youssouf Fofana from Strasbourg for €15 million in January 2020. He had just played 30 top flight games for the club.

    Youssouf Fofana has already played 17 times for France, including six appearances at the 2022 World Cup and is part of the squad of the Euro 2024 tournament in Germany.

    As Ibrahima Konate enters the final two years of his contract at Liverpool FC, links to Paris Saint Germain have reemerged.

    Ibrahima Konate made the following statement on RMC Sport's Generation After Podcast;

    I'm focused on the pitch and the Euros. I don't even think about that. I have two years left on my contract, I'm happy at Liverpool FC, so my head is there. I saw [the PSG links], leave me alone!" he laughed. I'm French. Hearing PSG are interested makes me neither hot nor cold, because I haven't had a conversation with them or whoever. I am honestly focused on the pitch. I'm not paying too much attention. It's a bit logical because I was born in France and in Paris. I have six older brothers and all six support PSG, I think, at least four or five. We watched a lot of matches together, they took me to the old stadium and the training centre. There's a little history with PSG but I made my own path. I played at Sochaux, then Leipzig before Liverpool. I'm happy.
