As soon as Jamaican star Konshens landed in Uganda in preparation for his appearance at the Blankets and Wine event that is slated for Sunday, he refused to rest as he stated that he was going to visit the late Mozey Radio’s grave to pay his respects to the fallen musician.
On visiting Mowzey Radio’s grave, Konshens didn’t take anything apart from flowers and this sparked some online criticism from Ugandans who saw this as purely a publicity stunt for his upcoming performance rather than an act of respect for the fallen musician.
In the presser ahead of his much anticipated performance, Konshens gave an explanation in his defense saying that his sole focus was on Mowzey Radio and he didn’t know that he was supposed to take anything like money for the family.
Konshens shed light on his view, stating that the culture back in Jamaica is very different from the culture in Uganda and he had no idea how things are done here in Uganda because in Jamaica, it does not require money to pay respect to the deceased.
“I’ve seen people online asking why I didn’t give the late Mowzey Radio’s family money, I didn’t know that I had to give them money, I did whatever I did out of respect.” Said Konshens
