Local trending singer Yasin Mukasa, better known by his stage name as Lil Pazo has thumped chest about collecting over Shs9m for being delayed to perform at the just concluded Nakivubo Stadium granding opening ceremony on Saturday 1st June 2024.
For starters, a few years ago, City businessman Hamis Kiggundu better known as Ham embarked on the renovation of the Nakivubo War Memorial Grounds to turn it into a bigger sports and business hub.
His mission was finally done and spectacular grounds renamed “Hamz Stadium” is set to officially resume hosting football matches.
The revamped Hamz stadium boasts a seating capacity of 25,000 spectators. It also features a gym, medical facility, restaurants, and other facilities.
On June 1, the stadium was officially opened.Entrance to the venue was Ugx50k (Ordinary), Ugx100k (VIP), and Ugx150k (Executive) and the gates were opened as early as 9 am.
The grand opening featured sports activities including Netball, Basketball, Boxing, Football, Fireworks display, and Entertainment.
The top Ugandan performers including Alien Skin, Bebe Cool, Sheebah Karungi, Eddy Kenzo, David Lutalo, Fik Fameica, and Rema Namakula put up unforgettable performances
While at Nakivubo Stadium, Lil Pazo had a public outburst during an interview when he asked violent musicians to respect the industry.
The "enkudi" hit maker noted that violence at events often ruins the image of the entertainment industry which many people are struggling to maintain for a better future.
Lil Pazo went ahead to criticize the artists’ gangs that had physical altercations at Nakivubo. He has since been attacked by Alien Skin’s fans who claim he was attacking their artist.
In a live TikTok video, Lil Pazo is heard asking the Fangone Forest fans to stop attacking him because whatever he said was out of goodwill for the industry.
The singer then thanked his fans and clients for always supporting him before revealing that because of his trending song, he managed to pocket over Shs9m at Nakivubo.
In one night at Nakivubo I collected 9 million because I was delayed to perform. Hajji (Hamis Kiggundu) also gave me a bonus. This is the kind of treatment you get when clients love your music. Thank you so much my clients, Lil Pazo said.
