Last night in the largely awaited presidential address on Covid-19, president Museveni locked the country once again by imposing a strict, total lockdown.
Before he announced this, the rumours had already travelled far and wide that we shall not survive this current lockdown once he speaks again on TV.
Also given the high death rates, with over 200 Ugandans losing their lives in the past 2 weeks because of Corona, it was obvious, Museveni would not take any chances to leave the country open.
The president, in addition to earlier measures of closing schools, inter-district travel ban, he also closed transport both public and private except for cargo and advised everyone to stay in their houses until after 42 days have passed.
What does singer, Azawi have to do with this
The talented female musician of Swangz Avenue, a leading record label about a month ago released a song titled "My Year" .
This song talks about how "this year" will be better than "last year" meaning that this will definitely be your year as a person where you will make good progress in life.
She goes ahead to sing about how you will marry the person you have always wanted to and then how you will make money in "this year"

So where is the problem with Azawi's song
Many people are complaining that the singer lied to them!
They say Azawi's song gave them so much hope about 2021 mbu it will be a good year for everyone but it is turning out to be worse than last year.
With yesterday's lockdown imposition, some Ugandans have even demanded Azawi to be arrested for telling us lies. Hahaha as if she is supposed to tell us the truth while singing her songs.
Shortly after Museveni finished his address, Azawi through her social media platforms posted a video telling people these words;
Don't Worry you got it, this year you won't die
