It was all glamour and sparkle at the independence grounds in Kololo while the nation and a few invited guests witnessed the swearing in of President Museveni into his sixth term in office. The official ceremony was done by noon, which was presided over by the chief justice, Alphonse Owiny Dolo.
Various dignitaries graced the occasion, among which included Kenyan president H.E Uhuru Kenyatta, H.E Emerson Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe, H.E Salva Kiiry of South Sudan and many others.
After swearing, president Museveni inspected the different security units available and later gave a speech. It was during his speech when he warned the western influence against meddling in Africa's affairs.
He termed these people as fools who wish no good to the people of Africa at large. He called upon the strengthening of relations among African states, siting that if this is attained, a time will come when the Western help is not needed.
Are we about to have our own United States of Africa (USA) as the late Col. Gaddafi had envisioned it?
