On the 22nd of March this year, Kawempe North MP elect Ssegirinya Muhammad alias 'Mr Updates' was arrested in the city center and accused of staging an unauthorized riot. Ssegirinya was protesting against what he termed "illegal" detention of NUP supporters.
He was remanded to Kitalya prison where he spent some good time until he was granted bail a while ago. However, his health since then has been worrying, as he was rushed to Doctor's Hospital in Seguku with abdominal complications.
The condition didn't get better and Ssegirinya was rushed to Agha Khan hospital in Kenya and according to the doctors, Mr Updates is indeed in a bad state. "According to doctors, I sustained wounds on my liver and possibly I may need a liver transplant.
My condition is not good at all and I hope to take a lengthy period on the sidelines while attaining specialized medical attention. Pray for me." Said the MP elect during an interview.
