    NBS under fire
    • November 19, 2020 • 4 years ago

Being a generation of technological advancement and internet almost everywhere. One would expect news to reach people fast.

Yesterday was all forms of chaos in Kampala and the whole of Uganda after the police arrested presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu who was in Luuka for campaigns and took him to Nalufenya.

Immediately news reached his supporters and they retaliated by blocking roads, burning tyres and plucking off Museveni's posters. So the internet and media houses were awash with live events except one station.

Next media station, NBS which refers to itself as the Political Command Centre while all this was happening, it was airing a certain conference and later on aired president Museveni's campaign live!

This didn't sit well with Twitter people who immediately started a hashtag, #BoycotNbs which saw the station's followers reduce. By the time the hashtag began, it had 675.1k followers. As of now, it's at 674k followers!

Amidst all this, a photo of Next media and New vision CEOs Kin Kaliisa and Robert Kabushenga respectively with Odonga Oto while the three were meeting at mestil hotel leaked.
