Human rights lawyer and strong Bobi Wine supporter Nicholas Opio was earlier today tried at the Buganda road court over charges of money laundering.
The hearing was held over zoom, and Opio was live from Kitalya prison. At the end of the hearing, Nicholas was sent to remand until the 11th of January next year. He however has an option of applying for bail before due date.
Human rights activists within the country and abroad have been calling for immediate release of Nicholas since his arrest but unfortunately their plee hasn't been granted.
