Singer Nina Kakunda, better known under her pseudonym Nina Roz has publicly confessed her interest in joining politics.She made the confession while taking part in a candid interview with Sanyuka Tv, a subsidiary of Next media services on Friday, April 5.
The pencil-sized singer confirmed that she is a long time diedhard of the National Unity Platform president Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine and she draws much inspiration from him.
Nina Roz explains that she is joining politics to seek change because all the years she has lived in Uganda, she has never seen any.
It should be noted that ever since Bobi Wine took a brave decision to actively indulge himself in Uganda's top politics, many singers have flocked leadership at different levels and Nina Roz is the most latest to show interest in becoming a representative of the voiceless.
The Omuliro singer, urged the people of Sembabule to wakeup and embrace change. She however extended her heartfelt gratitude to them for always loving and supporting her since she’s born there.
However, she asked them to support her in whatever capacity she might come in any time soon because change starts with them.
“I’m a Bobi Wine supporter and this is our time as the youth. I also yearn for change because I have never seen our country go through one. As a Sembabule born and bred, I thank my people for always showing me love and support. However, this time round I ask for their support in case I come in another form that is not musical. As people who yearn for change, we should be the ones to foster it because it starts with us,” she said in a video accessed by the reporter.
In the same interview, the Omuliro singer was tasked to clear the air whether she is still in Manager Jeff Kiwa's Team No Sleep and comment about their new female group dubbed the six killaz.According to Nina, she’s always been in Team No Sleep.
The six women incluing Nina Roz, Ava peace, Recho Rey, Zafaran, Nandor Love and jowy landa released a song titled Kukyala Nakubwa that has done pretty amazing owing to the criticism it received.
About her relationship with Sheebah, the singer said that there is no bad blood between her and the self styled queen of the area.. They buried whatever hatchet that was between them and all is good now.
