Opposition reacts to the appointment of Owek. Ssebugwawo as a minister

Since the announcement of the cabinet a few days ago, political analysts and ordinary Ugandans have been analysing minister by minister, giving marks, prophesying who would perform and who would not.

While the appointment of Rt. Hon Nabbanja as the prime minister caught many by surprise, the opposition was also shocked when their very own, Owek. Joyce Nabbosa Ssebugwawo was appointment as minister for ICT.

Owek. Ssebugwawo is a strong Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) and was the former Lubaga mayor who lost out to an NUP candidate in the recently concluded elections.

Her appointment got many saying that she's also going to fall prey to the cunningness of the regime and forget about the liberation struggle. However, FDC came out to clarify that the party allows  members to participate in national issues and also stated that there always individual consiquences to it.

Ssebugwawo is not the first FDC member to be "fished" by the ruling party. Beatrice Anyway, formerly known as "mama Mabira" was a very strong opposition member who later crossed to the yellow camp. Bety Kamya also once contested for the presidency of the country but later conevrted to NRM.

She was actually a minister in the previous cabinet, and also contested for MP of Lubaga North but lost to NUP's Abubakar Kawooya. Will the beloved Owek. stick to the liberation struggle or she'll also fall prey like her predecessors?
