The name Orient Bank as of today nolonger stands for the newly refurbished I&M BANK which officially launched its branded operations on the 8th/Nov/2021.
The reinventing comes after the the Nairobi based I&M group managed to successfully attain 90% of shares in Uganda's Orient Bank ? that now stands no more.
I&M Bank has come in full gears with new strategies that will concentrate on uplifting the vital sectors of the economy: That's to say Agriculture, Transport Technology and Manufacturing.
According to the I&M Bank chairman, Mr Suleiman Kiggundu these strategies will give the Bank ability to reach out to more customers within Uganda and East Africa at Large.
The Rebranding process has not only focused on the changing of the Name from Orient To I&M but has also included serious retraining of staff, intense Enhancement of customer relations and upgrading of the core banking System.
I&M Bank now joins a long list of Banks operating In Uganda, namely Absa Bank, Cairo Bank, Centenary Bank, Dfcu, Diamond Trust Bank, Eco Bank, Housing Finance Bank, KCB Bank Uganda, Equity Bank, Standard Chartered Bank to mention but a few.
