In a heartwarming announcement, the Deputy Speaker of the Ugandan Parliament, Thomas Tayebwa, took to Twitter on Monday to share the delightful news that the Speaker of the Ugandan Parliament, Hon. Anita Among, has given birth to twins. In a congratulatory message to his colleague, Tayebwa expressed his joy and excitement for the new parents.
"With great Joy, I congratulate my brother Moses Magogo and my sister, the Rt. Hon Speaker Anita Among upon the double bundle of joy. You are now Ssalongo and Nnalongo. Congratulations once again," Tayebwa tweeted.
The Speaker, Anita Among, and her husband, Moses Magogo Hassim, the President of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) and Member of Parliament for Budiope East in Buyende district, got married in August 2022 in a private ceremony held in Kampala. Their union was celebrated in a closed-door ceremony in Bukedea District, where the Budiope East MP reportedly paid a traditional dowry consisting of 50 cows and 30 goats.
The birth of the twins adds to the joy and happiness of this union, and the couple is likely to be showered with warm wishes and congratulations from their colleagues, friends, and well-wishers.
The Ugandan Parliament and the nation at large join in celebrating this joyous occasion as Speaker Anita Among and Moses Magogo embark on the wonderful journey of parenthood with the arrival of their twins.
