When musician came onto the musical scene with song “Tupaate", she was Asia welcomed with open arms. Her song soon became a banger in very many hangout spots. Pia Pounds immediately turned into a household name and her song was highly welcomed.
The song soon saw a remix being made with famous musician Eddy Kenzo. The remix was also well received by fans and quite honestly, this is the song that paved way for Pia Pounds' fame in the music industry.
When it comes to the fame Pia Pounds got from the “Tupaate" song, she recalls that it was a whole lot of money, even more than she had ever anticipated she would earn from the song. Her song was used as a track song for the famous Netflix reality show dubbed Young, Rich, Famous and African that featured rich African figures like Diamond Platinumz and Zari the boss lady.
According to Pia Pounds, she earned a very good amount of money for allowing the reality show to feature her song as a track but all this was not just her own making and it was also not just about the song “Tupaate". According to her, her song may not have even featured on the show had it bot been for musician Eddy Kenzo.
Pia Pounds recalls that it was Eddy Kenzo that gave her contact to the producers of the show in order for them to come to an agreement with Pia Pounds to use this song. Pia Pounds recognizes that this was quite a good deal for her considering that it came at a time when she needed it the most.
While talking to the hosts of the Talk and Talk show, Pia Pounds mentioned that this was during the Covid lockdown time when she needed money and many musicians were struggling to get by considering that hangout spots where they used to perform were now totally closed down and concerts were also shut down at that particular time.
"Ooh. The money was a lot. I honestly got a lot of money from that deal and you can imagine it was during the lock down when times were tough for very many artistes. It was actually Eddy Kenzo that led me to that deal. I owe that to him. He gave my contact to the producers of the Young, Rich, Famous and African show and they were able to contact me about the deal," said Pounds.
