Police Outs new findings in Pastor Bugingo Shooting
    • January 30, 2024 • 10 months ago

In a significant breakthrough, Ugandan detectives investigating the shooting of Pastor Aloysius Bugingo have uncovered crucial clues pertaining to the weapons used and potential suspects, according to statements released by the Ugandan Police. The prominent religious leader from the House of Prayer Ministries was targeted earlier this month in the Namungoona-Lubaga Division in Kampala, resulting in the tragic death of his bodyguard, Richard Muhumuza.

The investigative efforts, spearheaded by the Kibuli-based Special Investigations Division (SID), have taken a new turn with the police announcing a 20-Million-Shillings bounty for any information that leads to the arrest of those responsible for the shooting.

During a weekly security press briefing at Police Headquarters Naguru, Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga revealed that they have received crucial information from the public, and the task team is actively pursuing leads before making any arrests.

Enanga stressed the importance of verifying the credibility of the information before proceeding with further action, ensuring a meticulous and thorough investigation.

"The public shall be informed on the progress," Enanga assured reporters.

Forensic experts have made a startling revelation that Pastor Bugingo was shot with the same pistol that was used in the killing of blogger Isma Olaxes (Isma Tusubira) in May last year near his home in Kyanja, Nakawa Division, Kampala. The connection between the two incidents raises questions about potential links and motives behind the attacks.

Notably, the murder of Isma Tusubira had remained unsolved for more than seven months, with no breakthrough or suspects apprehended in the case. The newfound connection between the two cases has added a layer of complexity to the ongoing investigations, prompting authorities to reevaluate and coordinate efforts between the two separate incidents.

As the investigation unfolds, speculations and concerns within the public domain are rising, with both cases now intertwined in a web of mysteries and unresolved questions. The authorities remain committed to unraveling the truth and bringing justice to the victims, urging the public to cooperate and share any pertinent information that could aid in solving these heinous crimes.
