The president of Uganda H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni yesterday addressed the nation about covid-19 and ordered for suspension of a number of activities for 42 complete days.
Among the suspended activities are schools, on all levels. This is effective starting today, and as of now, parents have begun picking their children from schools. This comes as a strong blow, given some learners had just reported back.
Public gatherings like prayers, house parties, among others have also been banned. Weddings/introduction ceremonies, burial ceremonies have been allowed to continue, provided the number doesn't exceed 20 people.
Public transport across districts has been banned starting 10th/June/2021. Motorcycles are to strictly carry one passenger and can also carry goods. Public transport within Kampala metropolitan is also allowed to continue provided they follow SOPs.
