The oldest television station in Uganda, Record TV has shut down after it reportedly went bankrupt.
Addressing the media recently, Ezekiel Motoseneng, the managing director of the fallen Record TV explained that advertisers on the European market were adversely affected by COVID-19, thereby affecting their financial capability to support a television station in Uganda.
Mr. Motosoeneng added that the broadcaster could not achieve their targets in Uganda so they would have to look elsewhere.
The Head of Communication at Record TV, Emmanuel Sanua revealed that over 32 employees would be affected. He however added that arrangements are in place to compensate them.

News coming in regarding the fallen Record TV indicate that it will soon re launch as Tagy TV after a loaded city tycoon decided to buy it off at 800 millions
According to sources, the new owner is also the owner of Pearl FM and Tagy hotel, a five star hotel in the capital.
