Having taken over from William Pike in 1986 to become the second CEO of Vision group, Robert Kabushenga declared his resignation from the post he has held for over ten years.
Kabushenga broke the news in a private email he sent to staff, stating the board agreed to his request. “This is to let you know that for personal reasons I have asked the Board for an early retirement and this has been accepted.” Read part of the email.
The still running CEO will oversee a 90-day transition, as requested by the board. “I am proud of the success we achieved and the impact we had in society. This was possible because we worked together as a team. For me, it was an absolute honor and pleasure to have done so,” he farther explained.
The jolly CEO took to his Twiter also to break the news and said, “folks, kabara sunu????? I have dropped the ???? New vision, I will now go to grow coffee at Rugeyo farm ????????
Robert Kabushenga is credited for having boosted the new vision and among the notable things to have been achieved during his reign, the starting of Bukedde TV 1 and 2, Bukedde radio embutikizi and Urban TV. The sales of Bukedde newspaper also increased and it is currently the most bought newspaper in the country.
Being a very passionate farmer, Kabushenga also initiated ‘Omulimi asinga’ a program about uplifting farmers. We wish him well in his new endeavors.
