The National unity platform beloved Principal and Former Presidential Candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu famously known as Bobi Wine has revealed that he is not going to stand for the presidency of the Republic of Uganda again.
However much Ugandans have been anticipating the next Presidential elections with hopes that the beloved Principal is bound to return as a contestant for the presidency, their dreams of a new Uganda seem to be crushed after his recent revelation. According to Bobi Wine the current political environment is not favorable enough for him to contest and he added that for him to stand again it will require something special.
“I won’t stand again for Presidency if things stay like they are lately. Unless if something special happens. Ugandans know that It’s Museveni who appoints the Electoral commission chairman, chief justice and army officers.” Bobi Wine Said
While Addressing The Nation On Pearl FM
He went ahead to mention that it us the current president that sets all the rules regarding the elections and he goes ahead to influence all the outcomes of the elections then he goes ahead to instruct that no complaints be filed in court regarding the election results.
“Museveni gives directions to Byabakama on what he should do with the election results and thereafter tells Owinyi Dollo (Chief justice) to deny evidence regarding election results in court.” Bobi Wine boldly stated.
Bobi Wine however said he knew what was going to happen during the 2021 general elections but is pleased that they managed to expose the current leader, President Museveni and changed many Ugandans’ view of the ruling party and its leaders. He also went ahead to talk about how he was denied access to carry out campaigns in many regions.
“I told Ugandans that we are heading into an election but I don’t expect Byabakama to declare us victors. He denied me from holding campaigns in Buganda Region and other regions. But we managed to wake many Ugandans during that period and undressed Museveni. He now fights with the likes of Eddie Mutwe, Dan Magic, Bobi Young, Boda Boda guys and rastafarians such as Nubian Li not those we call political intellectuals.” So we changed people’s perception about politics.” He said.
