Ronald Mayinja is back in the news AGAIN! Not for the good reasons but well, for the wrong ones. As though appearing on camera smoking a blunt wasn't enough.
Earlier in the afternoon today, Mayinja had an interview with the Observer's journalist, who came to be known as Yudaya Na??onzi at his home in Munyonyo, Makindye division.
While talking to Simon Maseruka, a show host on Bukedde FM, the "Muzeyi" singer said the journalist reached a little later than the agreed time, and found him about to leave.
"The journalist had always wanted to have the interview and we finally agreed today, though she came late and found me almost leaving. We started our interview and along the way, one of my daughters who was from showering came and greeted the journalist, who filmed her.
I told her not to film my daughter and she said she would delete the part after and then we continued with the interview. Another girl brought her drinks, and she was also filmed. I again warned her about filming my children, and she said she'd delete the footage but instead, said it'll be the editor to edit, saying he might find interesting parts." Said Mayinja.
He went on to say that when the journalist refused, he grabbed her phone and tried to erase the footage himself but failed because the phone had passwords. He instead dismantled the journalist's phone.
However, the Observer tweeted and said the artist dismantled (stole) the phone because he feared what they had discussed would bring him problems with his "bosses."
Mayinja was charged with phone theft at Salama road police station, file case number SD:REF 29/7/1/2021. Maybe we're about to here him call "Muzeeeeyiiiiiii" one more time.
