Nigerian super star singer Ruger has delved into the inspiration behind his latest tracks 'Luv Again' and 'Make Way', as well as addressing the resolution of his feud with BNXN.
For starters, Ruger and BNXN, previously known as Buju, had a highly publicized beef that lasted for nearly three years before they finally made amends.
Speaking on the latest episode of The Morning Rush on the Beat 99.9FM, Ruger explained that the issue with BNXN stemmed from fan comparisons, which he believes can be both positive and negative, but unfortunately led to a feud between them.
"Comparison can dampen one's spirits, but it's a necessary aspect of the industry. It's what captivates people. The debates and all," Ruger said.
In regard to his reconciliation with BNXN and their collaboration on the joint EP 'RnB', Ruger said:
"We decided to look beyond the comparisons and ask ourselves, 'How can we create great music together?' There are numerous distractions in the music scene nowadays. Some individuals release subpar content, but they use money to promote it, and it gains popularity... If you examine the 'RnB' project, you'll find exceptional music."
Recall that Ruger recently unveiled two fresh singles, namely 'Luv Again' and 'Make Way'. According to the versatile Nigerian dancehall artist, 'Luv Again' signifies his ability to experience love once more, while also highlighting his capacity to switch emotions at any given time.
When it comes to his love life, Ruger openly admitted that he easily falls in love, which allows him to develop feelings for up to five different women simultaneously.
"I can fall in love with multiple women. Love, to me, is what I understand it to be. Personally, I'm not demanding, so falling in love comes naturally," he shared.
Bibi Raii, the host, inquired, "Do you believe that a man can genuinely love five different women?" To which Ruger responded, "Yes."
Bibi Raii further probed, referring to Tems' recent statement about people mistaking infatuation for love. She asked, "Are you one of those individuals who claim to be in love, but it's actually just infatuation?"
Me I can fall in love o... I'm very cheap, so, one dollar, you have me or even one shawarma. Buy me lunch or perfume or something, I'm materialistic, just like girls like being materialistic. If you just get me cakes or compliment me," he replied in between laughter.
When asked about his love life, Ruger revealed that his last romantic relationship lasted all but six months.
