Sadness as Nollywood loses another legend.

    in summary
The third month of the new year comes with sadness as another famous Nollywood legend leaves the hands of the enormous world.

In 2019, John Okarfor, also known as Mr. Ibu allegedly reported that his kinsmen paid some of his domestic workers to poison him because of his successful career.

In May 2022, another claim was made that he was poisoned for the third time but poison was not the cause of his death.

Mr. Ibu has been battling with health issues since October 2023 and was taken for multiple surgeries to the extent that his leg was amputated. Though in November, his family said he was recovering.

Unfortunately though, the Nollywood legend succumbed to a cardiac arrest this month and he was confirmed as a citizen of the other side.

According to his close relations, he was at Evercare Hospital where he breathed his last before finally calling it quits with life.

His fans shared condolences on X [formely Twitter]. They went through all the movies he has acted with all his funny moments. His fellow actors and actresses as well as the other Nigerian stars posted lighted candles as a sign of grief and mourning for the unexpected loss.

The President of Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Emeka Rollas, posted on his Facebook page something that confirms the awful loss in Nollywood.

“Sad day for Actors Guild of Nigeria.”

“Kate Henshaw lost her mother earlier today and Mr. Ibu suffered cardiac arrest according to his manager for twenty four years, Mr. Don Single Nwuzor.”

“I announce with a deep sense of grief that Mr. Ibu did not make it.”

The details for this legend's death has not been made public yet. His family and representatives have yet to comment publicly about the events that unfolded during Mr. Ibu’s last days on Earth.

Mr. Ibu’s death comes less than twenty four hours after the demise of Quadri Oyebamiji also known as Sisi Quadri.

This has been another star returning to the sky where he came from. Mr. Ibu was always insecure about his life as we remember one of his claims as he said that his sickness was a doing of one of his perpetrators. He claimed that they were responsible for all his issues and asked the doctors to do everything they can so that he can live and his enemies never get to laugh. Of course the doctors promised to do their best but there is nothing that can be done once the Almighty decides it is the end of the calendar.

    Rest in peace Mr. Ibu.
