Sports Minister blasted after stating that She Cranes coach Mugerwa has nver had a contract with the Netball Federation

Uganda's Netball Head Coach Fred Mugerwa's money saga has taken another twist, since he made a public announcement on Monday during the team's homecoming dinner at Serena Hotel about his payment.

In the midst of Sports Minister Hon. Peter Ogwang, Mugerwa made it clear that since he took the job of being the She Cranes' head coach in 2021, he had never been actually paid, safe for the few allowances he had been recieving.

While this raised many eyebrows among Ugandans, the adent followers of Uganda's Sports kept scrolling and adding Mugerwa's saga to a very long list of dissatisfied and disgruntled sportsmen and women of the 256.

Earlier yesterday, Sports Minister Hon. Peter Ogwang took to his Twitter account and tweeted that Coach Mugerwa had never signed a contract with the Uganda Netball Federation.

While Hon. Ogwang thought he was trying to clear the air surrounding coach Mugerwa's complaints, he instead threw a stone to an angry swam of bees! Immediately the tweet was up for the public, the public went all in with the responses.

While the minister still receives his offerings from angry Ugandans on Twitter, we pose a question; Shall we ever reach a point when our athletes are well appriciated or it's going to continue being business as usual?
