Stop announcing the president dead! - ICT minister Baryomunsi
    • July 6, 2021 • 4 years ago

For close to two weeks now, unconfirmed rumor has been spreading, mainly on social media, pronouncing the president of Uganda, H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni dead. Yes, you read that right, the fountain of honor has been pronounced dead not once, not twice but many a times.

The first viral came roughly two weeks ago when the death of president Museveni circulated for close to two full days. The rumors were silenced when president Museveni appeared with the first lady in Munyonyo to preside over the first regional health committee.

As of today, the rumors have continued moving within corridors and online. This has prompted the state minister for ICT Hon. Chris Baryomunsi to come out and warn people spreading the rumors.

"Whoever is moving around pronouncing the president dead has a big problem. How can a dead person preaide over a cabinet meeting? People should stop spreading such rumors." Said Hon. Baryomunsi.

Yesterday, H.E Museveni chaired a cabinet meeting in State House Entebbe to discuss pressing national issues like the ongoing pandemic. Earlier today, the president was also spotted in Bwaise while heading to Wakiso. So, whoever has been spreading the rumors, it's high time you stopped.
