After being given go ahead by the National Drug Authority (NDA) to be used by Ugandans, many opportunists have started making a killing from the highly sought after Covidex drug.
The famous drug was made by Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) lecturer, prof. Patrick Ogwang. The drug was highly recommended by those who had used it, which made the widespread rumor about it travel at wind speed.
This prompted NDA to allow the usage of the drug country wide and also saw the rocket speed growth of its prices. While talking to the media at media center, prof. Ogwang said his drug is released at shs. 6k factory price and expects it to be sold at shs. 8k wholesale.
The highest price according to prof. Ogwang should be shs. 12k, meaning the three bottles of a full dose would cost shs. 36k. Ogwang however expressed his concern towards Ugandans who're selling his drug at exobitant prices.
