It is known that today, presidential aspirant Robert Kyangulanyi is set to launch  his manifesto in Mbarara at the Kakyeka Stadium.

He was escorted by his wife Barbie Kyangulanyi, NUP spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi and various members of the National Unity platform.

Police was heavily deployed in the trading centres of Mbarara and some road blocks go as far as Masaka and on the Kabale -Ntugamo road. Cars were thoroughly checked before being allowed to continue on their journey. It is said that this check is look for Bobi Wine so that he does not attend this procession he had organized.

Police blocked supporters from accessing the stadium  but the supporters over powered them and were finally able to access it.

However, as the peaceful launching of the manifesto was going on, police started chasing away the NUP supporters and has now started firing tear gas and rubber bullets.  All chaos is breaking loose in Ankle region.
