Two successful back to back explosions were heard near the grave of General Soleimani Qasem,an lranian general who was killed in a U.S fine drone attack two years ago.The huge explosions happened at Sahel al- Zaman mosque where mourners had gathered to pray for the former head of the foreign affairs of the Revolutionary guards. It was only the Red crescent that rushed out to help with many people injured and the number totalling upto 104,131peolple which gave the humanitarian body alot of challenges in evacuating the people. It js however not yet clear wether the explosions were caused by a terrorist attacks or by a gas cylinder. The lranian government has do far made no mention of the issue with only a few sentiments of questions arising as to what could have gone rong.
Qasem Soleimani remains a revered figure in lran even after his death in a U.S drone strike two years ago just outside Baghdad's airport.He headed the Quds force foreign operation arm of the lran's lslamist Revolutionary Guards Corps. His death in 2020 led to tears of a direct military confrontation between the U.S and Iran and soured the already fragile relationship between the two nations. From this day, Iran is secretly believed to be masterminding a plan on how to exert a solid revenge on the U.S and this can be seen through the increased military funding that goes to Islamist militant groups groups that disorganise peace as well hinder the U.S from achieving its global hegemony in the middle East.
As of today Iran is one of the countries that aligns with Russia and North Korea inorder to challenge the U.S. lts intentions for the states have been made clear to the world that it does take the U.S as an arch rival as evidenced through the different situations where the two countries have rubbed shoulders. Iran has unconditionally been linked with all the prominent militant groups in the middle east such as the Hamas, Hezbollah of Lebanon and Houthi of Yemen.lt has not only funded these groups but also provided them with weapons and ammuntion. Iran has also on multiple times been accused by the U.S of attacking its settlements in lraq and Syria with the aim of chasing away it's troops.
