The president of the republic of Uganda, H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has declared tomorrow, 25th/June/2021 a public holiday, where the country is to have prayers in hope to curb the spread of covid-19.
The official prayers are to be held from the State House, and various religious heads have been invited to take part in the prayers.
Despite the country being in a total lockdown of 42 days, this didn't stop the president from declaring tomorrow a public holiday. This comes when the country is facing a second wave of the deadly virus, which has seen the number of infections and death drastically increase!
With over 70,000 confirmed cases countrywide and about 500 deaths, the second wave has greatly affected the health system, where many hospitals are now out of oxygen.
Coupled with heavy treatment fees met by patients in Private hospitals, the country is indeed in a worrying state. What's your view about tommorow's national prayers?
