Tracy Kirabo, stage name Pia Pounds is over the moon after her song Tupaate started hitting afresh some few weeks ago.
The song which was released 9 months ago (enough time to get your first born) started making rounds again over the airwaves in June as various Deejays started to play it on their respective radio and TV stations.
Various music fans also requested for the song on social media and other platforms hence increasing the song's visibility and now I can comfortably say it is a hit after a whole 9 months.
Pia Pounds herself could not believe what had just happened. This sudden hitting of her old song got her very emotional and she has been thanking everyone that has been there for her musical journey of late.
How Tupaate started hitting after all this time
It all began from a social media challenge (as usual) where a certain dude who was chilling at his rural home said, "it was a Friday" hence making it a reason to celebrate and while saying that, he was dancing to Tupaate.
The dude further went ahead to say he was so poor regardless of it being a Friday but told his buddy that by the time it clocks evening, he will have gotten money.

A few hours later...
The man gets money and is spotted hanging out in a bar alongside a pool table. He is so happy once again and dances to Pia Pounds' Tupaate and its because of this that her song is played on all Ugandan radios plus TVs when it's a Friday.

Pia Pounds released Tupaate last year along side a string of other songs like Wakikuba, Good Good, Selection and all these were under her E.P. also called the same name, Tupaate.
This was at a stylish and glamorous E.P. launch party at Amare bar and restaurant on Ggaba Road and was hosted by Daggy Nice, a TV presenter from NTV Uganda who is also Pia Pounds' close friend.
Daggy told us him and Pia were already friends 10 years ago when she had just started doing music and that she used to sing for beers and other amenities that he would offer after a good performance.
Pia used to perform cover songs of other musicians on a live band performance and she was still below the age of 18 by this time (Beer, 18, hmm ?)
Is Tupaate her first hit
Definitely a no, because Pia Pounds has many other hit songs to her name such as Taala and its Remix with Feffe Bussi that were well received by the public.
However, her career has been hit hard by critics who claim she doesn't know how to sing. These critics have always rubbished her music and told her to try her talents else where.
Pia who confirmed she was heartbroken by such people said they have a right to their own opinion because options are many but promised to give them a deaf ear and only move with those who like her music.
