Uganda prepares for presidential swearing in.
    • May 5, 2021 • 4 years ago

The swearing of president Museveni under the theme of "securing your future." is to take place in May 12 at the Kololo Independence Grounds.

Cars to transport dignitaries have already been imported from China and are under mechanical inspection.

Over 42 dignitaries from within Africa and outside Africa are expected to attend but only 21 have confirmed their attendance.

Due to the new Indian variant tested in Uganda, each invited guest is to have a COVID-19 test before attendance.

All SOPs will be observed by the 4000 guests who will be in attendance.

A warning has been served to all the people who would like to start chaos on that day that security officials will be around to "handle" them.

This has been served as a warning especially to opposition leaders who might want to disrupt the event.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni won the January 2021 elections with 58% of all the total votes.

He has been in power for the last 35 years.

These results have been contested by many opposition leaders like Robert Kyangulanyi, the presidential falg bearer for the National Unity Platform who reported rigging and changing of results at tallying centres.

Furthermore, a case was taken to court but later on withdrawn after citing unfairness among the judges.
