The Uganda Volleyball Lady Cranes yesterday bowed out of the CAVB Women’s African Nations Volleyball Championship happening in Yaounde-Cameroun in 8th position, after loosing 1-3 to Morocco in the Classification Games.
The Lady Cranes lost to Egypt in the quarterfinal match earlier on Tuesday and this meant they had to fight for the 5th position which also didn't end well having lost 3-0 to another North African team, Algeria on Wednesday.
This farther dropped Lady Cranes and they had to now fight for the 7th place against Morocco. The North African team showed from the begininning they had come for revenge, given they had lost 3-0 to the Lady Cranes in the group stage.
Morocco began the game on a high note, and despite the relentless attacks from the Lady Cranes, the Moroccans won the first set 26-24 and went ahead to win the second and third sets 27-25 and 26-24 respectively.
The spirited effort from the Lady Cranes saw the match head into a fourth set but still the Moroccans stood firm, winning it 25-22 and thus sending the Lady Cranes parking in the eight position. The Lady Cranes left the tournament with 3wins and 5losses.
