Singer Douglas Mayanja, professionally addressed as Weasel Manizo will be holding a music concert later this year. This is according to reports spilling through various entertainment corridors.
On Monday night, a video surfaced online showing singer Weasel signiging documents with events promoter Nobat Events and it has come to our knowledge that they were reaching an agreement to stage the concert.
This concert is set to go down on the 9th of August at Hotel Africana. Therefore, this means that there is going to be some heavy work for the singer. This is in the buildup to this concert.
Speaking to one of the local publications, Nobat Events said that the concert aims to celebrate Weasel’s contribution to the Ugandan music industry.
"I wanted to give Ugandans a chance to show Weasel love because, since Mowzey died, Weasel has been missing performing for the Goodlyfe fans,” said Nobat Events.
Thus, Weasel manizo is expected to perform an entire catalog that he did with the late Mowzey Radio. This will probably see him alone or with a backup singer.
It should be noted that Weasel has barely moved on since the death of of his singing partner Mowzey Radioin 2018.
Six years later and the singer has never been the same. He’s mostly in the news for controversial reasons and many believe that Radio’s death sent him into depression that he’s yet to recover from.
Weasel last hosted a concert in 2017 when Radio & Weasel celebrated their 10th anniversary. Thousands of fans turned up for this concert and filled up the venue.
Weasel will therefore hope that fans will turn up in big numbers to fill up the venue which is smaller than Kyadondo.
More details will be shared in the next few weeks ahead. However, a number of ugandan musicians such as Karole Kasita have already come out to express support for the singer.
His brothers, Pallaso and Dr Jose Chameleone are also expected to support him in the buildup to this concert.
Besides, this year, a Netflix documentary about Mowzey Radio will be released. The documentary will chronicle Radio’s journey both on and off the camera, providing a look into his life before his untimely passing.
The purpose of this documentary is to showcase Radio’s life, ensuring that his legacy is preserved for future generations.
Nowviba joins the rest of music enthusiasts to wish Weasel Manizo the best of luck in his impending concert.
