The last standing Goodlyfe singer Weasel Manizo has been hit with unforeseen setback following the postponement of his concert.
A few days ago, Weasel Manizo legally identified as Douglas Mayanja sparked excitement among his fans and music enthusiasts at large with the announcement that he will be staging a concert this year.
The concert was initially set to go down on the 9th of August 2024 at Hotel Africana but according to reports reaching our desk, the music show has been rescheduled.
Through a press release, city events promoter and organiser, Nobat Events said that that Weasel's concert dates collided with Haruna Mubiru's concert.
It should also be noted that even fast rising star singer Acidic Vokoz will be holding his maiden music concert on the same date ( 9th August, 2024).
This clash of events was entirely unexpected and unintentional, as stated in the press release.
As a result of this unexpected turn of events, Weasel’s concert has been rescheduled to the 2nd of August, one week prior to Haruna Mubiru’s concert.
Nobat Events expressed their sincere gratitude for the unwavering patience and understanding exhibited by Weasel’s devoted fans.
They assured the fans that the rescheduled concert would undoubtedly be worth the change and would deliver an unforgettable experience.
Furthermore, Nobat Events expressed anticipation and excitement at the prospect of witnessing the overwhelming support and presence of Weasel’s loyal fans at the concert before the year comes to a close.
Meanwhile, entertainment critic Eddie Sendi has advised Weasel on how to hold a successful show.
Speaking to a local TV, Sendi said that the success of this concert will rely on the way Weasel and the promoter market the show. The controversial media personality said that Weasel has the necessary music especially their old songs with Radio.
If the concert is driven by the narrative that Weasel is missing the late Radio, the show will definitely sell. However, he advised them not to play the sympathy card a lot as the outcry has to be genuine.
Weasel has the necessary songs to stage a concert. Their old songs with Radio will surely work out for him and this depends on how they are going to market the show. If they show that Weasel is missing Radio, surely people will miss him. But they don’t need to play the sympathy card a lot,” he said.
The Crew’s last concert was the ten years of Radio and Weasel that was held at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds in 2017. Thousands of fans turned up for this concert and filled up the venue.
Weasel will therefore hope that fans will turn up in big numbers to fill up the venue which is smaller than Kyadondo.
