In May this year , the singer promised to hold two free shows in Uganda and this gave a ray of hope to many people at that time but critics from Nigeria said this was a move to calm down all the hate coming out of Uganda claiming that he has always lied to people in Nigeria about free shows whenever he fails to make an appearance.

For those who follow up the events as they unfold on twitter, you must have come across the Uganda-Wizkid saga several times.

The along waited Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, better known by his stage name Wizkid was meant to perform in Kampala on the 3rd of December last year(2016) at Lugogo cricket oval. But the concert unfortunately did not take place due to his reportedly ill health.

Star times was behind this December concert though its own music channel Face Television and other artitses like Navio who are close to the Nigerian artiste. Many Ugandans that had purchased the expensive tickets cursed every bit of Wizkid after he failed to show up a few days to that fateful day.

It is a public secret that Face Tv had already given Wizkid a huge chunk of money in dollars and that's why they went ahead to sue the singer in a court. Local promoter Suudiman actually said this is what made the whole situation worse and that amateur dealers that were involved in negotiations with the best artiste in Africa at that time made a mess of the entire thing.

This time round , to be exact on Monday 9th October , one of the first things Wizkid tweeted about was Uganda! ???? it shocked many but he posted first about us and put a date of 7th for his proposed concert. Then he went ahead to  put dates for other countries too but this came with a lot of mixed reactions where some people were saying they got over the whole fracas long ago and didn't want him to come.
